Dear Reader
My topic is Postsecret. I chose this topic because I was once addicted to Postsecret. Postsecret was a way for me to express a few secrets I have always wanted to get off my chest to people from all over the world. I basically got to see what people thought of me and my secret and releasing those secrets was nothing more than an adrenaline rush. Not only did I get to post a few of my secrets but I also got to read the crazy secrets from others. Some secrets really have blown my mind. The secrets are far in range differing from suicide, marriage, murder, gross habits and so on. I got addicted to Postsecret and I believe you readers will too.
Before research, I knew about Postsecret because I had used it before. I knew a little of the story behind Postsecret, you know the story that made it famous. I also read a few of the Postsecret books, had been on the website, and frequently visited the apple app. Before any research of my topic, I knew I loved Postsecret from the get go and found it very addicting.
I really wanted to learn why Postsecret had become so famous with the people. Why was PostSecret such a hit? What about Postsecret made you want to release your deepest darkest secret? I found that not only did Postsecret give you the urge to free your own secrets but to also go do something that would turn into a worthwhile secret. That way you would have a big secret to tell and get a lot of feedback from other postsecreters.
I found my information about Postsecret on many different websites. Postsecret.com was a very helpful source, as you can imagine. Experimentaltheology.blogspot.com was a good source for the reasons why setting secrets free is a type of psychological release. It gave me information on why Postsecret was so addicting. The www.nytimes.com and www.usatoday.com are both good blogs I found that elaborated on what Postsecret is exactly. All four of these sources helped me shape and form my research paper.
I learned a lot about Postsecret through my research. One thing I learned was the reasonings behind the addiction of Postsecret. Everyday people like you and me find a rush in expressing our secrets anonymously. I actually found that people hoard their secrets and treat them as fetishes. Telling people their secrets gives them some kind of buzz off of adrenaline. This is one main reason why Postsecret is so famous.
The research I have found about Postsecret has really made me understand it a little bit more. I now realize why Postsecret is so addicting. I would like you as the reader to take away that secrets are healthy to keep. Sometimes releasing those secrets to strangers rather than telling someone you know is healthy as well. A lot of people have found psychological release through Postsecret and you can to. Remember this: we are all have a lot more in common than we think.
In this research paper, you will find three different genres all related around Postsectret. There is a collage of a few Postsecrets which shows the artwork of the postsecrets. There is a playlist that has a few songs that are all about secrets and different types of secrets. There is also a found poem to which I have made that includes 4 stanzas of different Postsecrets. I encourage you to read on and learn about Postsecret and the wonderful things it inhabits.
Sincerely,
Hanna Abu-Taqa

I married the man of my dreams, had 7 kids, am financially stable, and am the happiest woman I know. My secret: I falsified documents so nobody would know I married my brother.
